CSDI Awards 2025

To further promote the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) and enhance public interest in spatial data, the Geospatial Lab (GeoLab), established by the Development Bureau, is organising the "CSDI Awards 2025 - Co-creation X Northern Metropolis X Spatial Data". These Awards aim to encourage students and the public to utilise spatial data to explore innovative proposals for the development of the Northern Metropolis, working together to build a smarter and more liveable Hong Kong. The Awards Ceremony will be successfully held on 2 August 2025 at the Charles K. Kao Auditorium of Hong Kong Science Park. Following the judges' selection, the award winners across the four contestant groups have been successfully determined.
This year's theme is "Co-creation X Northern Metropolis X Spatial Data". Spatial data is part of everyday life. Easily accessible, high quality and up-to-date spatial data is essential to a smart city. The Awards encourage participants to explore the development possibilities of the Northern Metropolis across various domains, including environment, transportation, economy, urban planning and community development, through spatial analysis and visualisation. Concurrently, by combining innovative thinking with various technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3D modelling, participants can create more liveable communities in the Northern Metropolis and explore the potential of emerging industries like autonomous driving, entertainment and gaming, and low-altitude economy, building a better future.
Since the beginning of the year, GeoLab has organised various innovative activities, including Briefing Sessions, Spatial Data Workshops, Fanling North Community Liaison Centre Guided Tours, and professional mentor guidance, providing comprehensive support to participants.
We once again extend our gratitude to all guests, judges, and enthusiastic participants. Special thanks to Hong Kong Science Park for their venue support.
The Geospatial Lab will continue to promote the development of spatial data and Geographic Information Systems, and plans to host more related activities. Stay tuned!
