Design Thinking Training Activities Highlight

The “Spatial Data Craft” series of design thinking training and activities, including the Introduction to Design Thinking in March and the Design Thinking Workshop in April, has come to a fantastic close! The events attracted over 300 participants who shared an interest in design thinking and spatial data.
Centred around the human-centric approach of design thinking, the activities integrated spatial data to help participants explore development opportunities in Hong Kong and the Northern Metropolis. The introduction used local and international case studies to clearly illustrate how design thinking can be applied to identify problems and create innovative, human-centred solutions that address urban and societal needs.
The workshop guided participants through Fanling’s Luen Wo Hui in the Northern Metropolis, combining on-site exploration with virtual tours. Using design thinking tools, participants gained more profound insights into the real needs of the community. Throughout the process, they transformed complex urban contexts into visualised datasets by merging spatial data with design thinking tools.
During the discussion sessions, participants proposed a wealth of creative ideas aimed at shaping more community-friendly planning and applications, drawing new blueprints for Hong Kong’s future development.
We would like to express our profound appreciation to all and look forward to seeing you again at future events.
